ROB GARRETT’S “KING OF DIAMONDS” Vegas residency show continues in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.
Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
More than just being one of the best-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.
In January 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences worldwide through tribute artist Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.
Ask Alexa “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show schedule York native.
In the spring of 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to Las Vegas, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from cover band frontman to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his musical idols.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to go independent.
He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, 2025 officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
Alexis Park Hotel Las Vegas is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
